Played the game for a few hours and it was fiiiine. I downloaded PlayOnMac and now my alterna-windows Steam has a home. So I tried to search for another alternative and found this tutorial: I wanted to play it but didn't want to keep reinstalling Steam via Wine. (Hope this makes sense.) I finished the game, then found the original Gabriel Knight which also said only Windows. I installed Wine to play a non-Mac game and it worked fine while open, but as soon as you closed it, the windows-approved Steam 'disappeared' - I couldn't get it to just reopen in Wine, and instead had to keep it reinstalling it.
